Evening OcUKers :D

I've been thinking about where to use Affecting or Effecting in places. But now I've thought about it too much, and they both don't even look like words anymore :p

Where should I be using Affecting and when is it right to use effecting (Or affect/effect)?

THANKS!

Marky

Affect is a verb. You affect something.

Effect is a noun. Something is an effect.

That's pretty much it.

So, for example, if the heat in a room is bothering someones sleep, it would be:

"The heat in my room is really affecting my sleep"

Is that right?

Really? :o

Just Google affect vs effect :o.

I'm here for the discussion, and to ask questions as above.

Exactly! People get annoyed here when you mess up your grammar and what not, but as soon as you ask a simple question on it you get mocked :p

7 different people answered you, the least helpful was to tell you to google it, the other 6 helping in one form or another. I take offence at "guys" not helping :p

It should be directed purely at Moses, assuming that's the unhelpful one. ;)

I wasn't directing it at you. I thank you for your helpful answer :p

Think I've had my question well and truely answered :)
Thanks again for the helpful comments, and thanks for nothing to the others :p
