Affordable at 1440p

I'm interested in this too, cheapest I've found from a reputable retailer is still over £250. Which models are you thinking of spoffle? (If it's not against the rules to mention them of course).

There are Korean ones (of which I have 4, and they've been great). You can also get 29" IPS 2560x1080 super wide displays for £200 from Hazro.

I've heard the Korean monitors have problems with dead pixels and reliability. Though I did also hear that QNIX models are ok. But still having a browse on OCUK and it seems 300 is the starting price.

I've had 4 Shimians for 2 years and I've had no issues with them. Monitors in general can have the risk of dead pixels. None of mine have any though.

Now that decent GPUs for 1440p gaming can be had for little above £250 will we finally start to get decent 1440p monitors under £250 too?

I can't see any single GPU that I would describe as fully capable of dealing with 1440p yet...unless you think that multiplayer BF4 at 40-60 fps is a good place to start from, accepting the fact that newer games are going to push this performance range increasingly down the greasy pole of unplayability.

Of course, you could always turn down eye candy, but then why not just go with 1080p and get full eye candy and butter smooth frames?
