I am after a 19" Widescreen TFT but i don't want to pay a lot for it. My budget is around £140. I know that i won't be getting a super dupa one for that price but i am confused as to what to go for.

Should i be going for DVI or is VGA just as good?
I have seen the HP one in a big store and the picture looks stunning. I checked the back and it only has a VGA connection. Is this a good TFT?

Be great if someone could steer me in the right direction. It is a minefield of TFT's out there for me. I can't shift too much on price. I want a low ms Model with a superb picture, i want the TFT in black too!! Any help would be appreciated. Not too sure about the DVI / VGA thing. I have checked the sticky here but need clarification as to wether or not it is a 'must' to have DVI.

Even with your low budget, there are plenty of decent 19" TFTs with both VGA and DVI inputs. Get one of those and you can make your own mind up.

In real terms there is very little noticable difference between VGA and DVI on the majority of panels. Personally, I find the DVI slightly better (barely noticable) but only really on sharp linear things like text.

I bought the Hanns-G panel from OC which is very cheap, has both inputs and is an excellent panel IMO.

For £140 you can get some 22" widescreen panels such as Acer, hyundai etc if you look around.

If you look second hand you can even get a dell 22" or a nec 20" or 21" widescreen monitor.

I just picked up a second hand 20" NEC for £120 :D Pleased as punch

A 20in one is not much bigger, and you'll get a lot more desktop space, as their resolution is usually 1680x1050.

I've just bought a 20in Philips for £180.

Yep I believe 20-22" is 1680x1050. :)

Can't wait for my 20" BenQ to arrive, damn you bank holiday Monday! Going from 1440x900 19" to 20" 1680x1050 for cheap.

Plus my current monitor is a TV too and is quite big due to the speakers and what not so will appreciate the extra desk space the new monitor will give me, will look more sleek too.

Not glass fronted though.

What about this one: Samsung SM941BW I know it is not glass fronted but just wanted to know what people thought. Have done a forum search but want some fresh views.

My main 'want' is to have WS with a glass front (Stop peoples fingers dirtying screen!!)
