I have heard about guitar pro 5, is this any good?

Basicly I want something I can use with my bass guitar, something that will help me improve and maybe play along and record. Has anyone got any recommendation's. :)

Goes off to check it .................

Gets back ...............

Can you link me to where it says you can plug a guitar in and record it please.
You'll be teaching me something here.
The only thing I can find is ADD TRACK but that is adding a new track to put data on it.
I can't even find RECORD in the instructions.

i have guitar pro and no you cant record... the only thing I could think of is recording froma MIDI source but basically NO...

It's a midi transcription program using guitar tab - VERY good software I would highly recommend it..

midi

edit: guitar pro is very good, you can transcribe powertab fils into guitar pro aswell, and export guitar pro files as a wave file, so you can get all the backing together and play the lead over the top (or obviously you would mute the bass track and play bass over the top)

Hmm sorry I must have mis understood how this prog works.

Might still be worth playing around with if I can put tabs in and just play my bass along with the music. :)

guitar pro as everyone previously mentioned is very good but not for recording, the closest it will interact with your guitar is that you can use it to tune your instrument.

Reason 3 and Cubase are the best programs for recording with (i find anyway, you can make some really cool drum grooves on Reason)
