I'm looking to replace my trusty old Logitech G9x but need the replacement to have a similar 'Hyper scroll' middle wheel? Where you can switch between a free running mouse wheel and the normal stepping kind of movement?

Is it just Logitech that have this feature? I see the G500 Logitech has it but there have been mixed reports of this mouse emitting some kind of high frequency sound when it's being used which is putting me off?

doesnt have the scroll buttons but ive just got a mionix naos which fits perfectly best mouse if felt since my trusty mx1000

I've had 2 G500 in the past, they were brilliant and none of them made any sounds. The G600 I use now doesn't have the free mouse wheel thing, but my girlfriend's G700s does and she is very happy with that mouse.

Such a shame they discontinued that mouse, had it for a while and loved it. Almost impossible to get a new one now...

As someone who went from the g9x to the g502, I can't recommend the g502 enough. Plus the scroll switch is on the top rather than the bottom, which is a lot more convenient when I switch from gaming to browsing.
