I've decided I would like a symbian phone again. Been looking at the e65. Does anyone have one? Are they any good? Any other advice?

Thanks

I've got an E65, and have been very pleased with it.

The battery life is awesome, compared to most modern phones (particularly any running Symbian!), and it is very light, and thin, yet still well made.

I have a black one, on 3.

What do you want to know?

A review that I read said that it isn't worth the money to upgrade, but they were talking about coming from another E Series device. I want to know if the phone is generally any good. I know the E Series is supposedly for business use but as i'm a normal user is it for me?

Thanks

I've also got an E65.

When looking for the phone, I wanted a slim slide handset preferably with Symbian. The phone fits the bill perfectly.

I upgraded from a W800i.

The screen is stunning. Very high resolution, puts the W800i to shame.
The camera is 2mp fixed focus, it's not as good as the SE's but to be far, I don't use the camera that often, I have a digital camera for that. The photos it takes are fine though. There isn't a flash which on the SE did come in handy as a torch however.

WLAN is great, I use Fring for MSN/Skype and Truphone to make free landline calls in the UK. (Offer at the moment is free calls to list of countries, and even mobiles in the US!) VoIP calls are simple, just select call, then internet call.

Mobile Browsing is fine, uses the same browser as other S60 phones - it's a great browser. (No landscape view however)

The size of this phone, for what it does, is amazing. It's slim, very slim. Great feel in your hand. The slider has a nice spring action.

Basically, this phone is for people who dislike the size of the N95 and can do without the 5mp camera and the built in GPS.

Anymore questions, I'll be happy to answer them :D

Got mine on Vodafone by the way, it's a mocha brown colour.

Cheers Nikolic thats just what I was looking for. Was a bit worried about the camera as I'm coming from a k800i, but like yourself, I don't use the camera much either.

Quick question - Are there any extra apps installed besides the usual nokia ones? I've heard that QuickOffice is there?

Thanks again.

All the E-series Symbian phones have software installed for viewing, editing and creating Office documents. I think it's QuickOffice Pro.

Quickoffice is installed, but I don't think it's the full version. I can view documents, but I can't create them. Not too sure on editing, as I havn't tried it.

Don't know which programs are the usual Nokia ones, but it also comes with Adobe PDF reader.

E65 is a very good little phone, however I'm too blind to read some text on there, is there a way of increasing text size? i.e. on Contacts etc

No you can't increase text size. Only phones with Feature Pack 1 (N95) support different font sizes.
