im after a new rts were you have to advance through the ages like from cave man to future with all in between. i can remember playing one but cant remember the name of it.

whats the best of these types of games?

thx

For some reason this made me think of Megalomania on the Amiga.... loved that game !

Can't think of anything recent that fits your criteria though.

Empire Earth 3 is terrible though from what I've heard :D.
The original is superb.
I don't know about 2, I think it was worse than 1.

Could also be the original Age of Empires, you start off with Stone Age and advance up to Roman or Egyptian.

What we need is a new rts which has the huge research scale of Civ IV and timeline, but with the twist of real-time events such as plagues, volcanoes, wooly mammoth extinction, wars, etc and the grand battle epics with huge number of units like Rise Of Nations or Age of Empires II. Or Age of Empires I, II & II all in one big game!

You don't end in the future or present in aoe though :p.

Yes I agree, need such a game, the population limits are annoying.
