After Effects, Juddering?

Hi all

Just trying to do some video editing and the preview of after effects is very juddery and badly pixelated when I move the slider on the timeline.

Specs are 3570k and 16gb ram so I'm sure they are fine??

Its almost unusable editing - I know there is the 'Full/Half/Quarter' for render preview, but this juddering is making it hard to do transitions etc.

Any ideas people?

I was only going to say check to Full on the preview as it causes a lot of issues.
Sadly I literally never use After Effetcs, I do everything in Premiere and Speedgrade. I'll ask around my crew though, see if they know anything

Edit - Apparantly it can be to do with refresh rates? Try previewing (or exporting and playing through) a TV/Proper monitor, see if it has an effect. Have you checked if the outputted file judders too, cause it could just be the preview.
