After input on my banner

I'm currently designing a site for my DJ'ing and just wanted some input. I've come up with this banner so far

I think its lacking something but can't quite put my finger on it, any ideas? Also the htdjs stands for Hard Trance DJs do I need an apostraphee in there?

I can't quite place it, but there is something missing. Might be that the grey gradient is too light?

no apostrophe required, the s is indicating more than one DJ

it might look better on the background it's aimed at rather than the blue one here?

I think its that background. Try making it darker all the way across, but still with a gradient...just more subtle.

You mean even darker that it is on the far left? I have it that colour at the moment because it matches the colour used on the site in my first post, I think it would look odd even darker but i'll try it

I like it now. There could be a dot over the 'i' in 'Taking', but otherwise I think it fits quite nicely with the site design. Good job!

Sorry I meant just on the right. The left hand side looks fine. It's just 2 thirds of the way across is a bit bland.
