I have here a server / media box with an i3 2120 CPU, 2 WD digital blacks on an HW RAID controller for the OS and 4 WD digital greens for data / media running on Asus ITX P8H77-I (using on-board graphics).
At idle the” measured” power consumption is around 40 to 45W, running prime 95 (100%) with all disks spinning the rig consumes around 80W. The whole rig is powered by a Pico 160, which I now consider overrated for this system.
OK the i7 is approx. double the power consumption of my i3 but that can’t explain why you are looking to get what I consider to be a huge PSU for a media box.
