I have a 7850 in my current rig im quite tempted to crossfire it with another of the same card im in two minds as most newer games require 3gb for ultra settings would I benefit anything from upgrading my card or should I try sell my 7850 and put it towards a new card?

you might get probably £70-90 flogging that card.

Last i checked 7850 in crossfire is about the same as a single 680/7970/770 overclocked.

You can get another 7850 for £100-120, or flog the 7850 you have and spend £130-150 and get one of the above and avoid potential issues with crossfire, and have more vram.

I game at 1080p I wasnt sure how much id get for my card if I did sell it , its the gigabyte 2gb oc . I was thinking about getting the 280x

That is a user review for the 2GB 7850 in Xfire. I assume yours is 2GB as well? If so, it could well be worth adding another for nearly double performance in most games. For 1080P, the 2GB is fine.

Of course there can be possible issues with Xfire and a one card solution is always preferred and the 280X is a good price.

The one thing I will tell you to do is OC that CPU if you change out your GPU. It will hold the new GPU/'s back.

it'll most likely sell for £70-80. If the Top/Matrix 7970 was still on sale i'd suggest that. But i'm sure everyone will now suggest you get the toxic 280x :)
It'll cost you ~£200 after selling the 7850.

Will vram limitations hold back being able to go ultra since games require more ram. I'm tempted to overclock but I don't like how the temps are higher on ivybridge

wouldnt know if id have the space I have a coolermaster 912 haf plus but i cant tell how big it is id have to measure it to see how long it is, good price too id just need to sell my graphics card first
