Hi all

I am after a GFX card for my new build i bought a ATI Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 4670 Ultimate Passive which i had to return as the GFX was damaged and there are none left but to be honest it would not fit my pc as i am instaling a hugh hs on the cpu on a asus i5 pd55 and the heatsink on the gfx would be in the way as you need the back of the gfx card to be free of any heatsink.

so i am back to the drawing board and wanted to know what is the best silent as possable gfx card i can get.

I only use my pc for desktop and internet and some music and HD movies i dont play gmaes at all on my pc which is why i went for the ATI Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 4670 Ultimate Passive in the first place.

abit peved about returning it but such is life so anyonw recomend a silent as poss gfx card for my new build which has nothing on the back of the card.

thanks and sorry about asking this again

thanks but after a directx 11 card i think

are you sure, the 4670 is not (10.1), and there are only a handful of ati cards directX 11 at the moment

5970
5870
5850

you might be waiting a while :p

besides why do you want a dx11 card if your not gaming?

good luck lol

I just got a passively-cooled HD 4550 for a machine I want to be as quiet as possible. I'm pretty sure it would do all the things you've mentioned and it cost less than £30.

i wounder if ocuk are going to be getting this card in release date nov 20th

could not beleve it when i got the very last ATI Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 4670 Ultimate Passive and it was damaged on delevery, maybe it was a sign since it would not fit the Asus P7P55D Pro Intel P55 and the Prolimatech Megahalem in the same case as the Prolimatech Megahalem is only a few mm away for the gfx card and there is a hs on the back of the Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 4670.

asus fault putting the cpu socket so close to the first gfx card slot as other boards i have looked at seem to have the gfx slot more apart but i love my asus boards

this is why i have to get a passive without any heatsink on the back of the card or get a fan version which all have nothing on the back.

but ion my 5 year old machine i have a passive so i dont know what these fan based cards are like are they noisy or silent

thanks
