.....I give Freefaller notice that he has to vacate his cell in a week.

Thought I'd crank it up over the weekend to catch up a tad dear boy ;) seeing as I'd lost so much ground over Chrimbo whilst I was away.

Added my quad core media centre into the mix for the weekend as the wife and kids are away, its a beasty.

Unfortunately its silent beneath the TV most of the time but now the fans are kicking in so I expect the wife( who is a Luddite) will complain and then its bye bye, so I'll need this just for catch up then its back to being just for entertainment. Oh well.

:D

Damn a quad core? Have you been intercepting deliveries going to OcUK! :p

Bought this bad boy before Christmas from a company in Alderley Edge, runs my media centre off a touch screen, kids love it as the menus are all in title screenies, makes it easy even for my 4 year old. Press a picture of Shreck and up he comes, great for parental control as well.

Cannot mention their name but they are the dogs in high end systems.

Sounds awesome. How much did that lot dent your wallet by?

I'd love a media PC for the front room, but I just know the day I let the rest of the family loose with it I will come home to a lingering smell of burning plastic and a barespot where the media box used to live. :p

email btw dude!

Isnt like that, you have a 12" touch screen remote that sits on you coffee table (like a tablet) and you just press what you want, pretty indestructable really.

Back at ya

I want!

Could you just get it folding on a couple of cores? I don't really know what I'm talking about but isn't quad-core slightly overkill for a media centre? :p

Depends I suppose, I know the sales director and you could say this was a sales gimmick but, it runs my movies, mp3'4 games consoles (which there are 3)and my hdtv. I have about 400 GB of movies my music centre, one hdtv and a projector. So i dunno know maybe it is.

When you offer a child a one-touch method of making something they like happen they love it. Offer several children the same and you get:

I want shrek *presses shrek*
No I want nanny mcphee! *presses nanny mcphee*
SHREK! *presses shrek*
NANNY *presses nanny mcphee*

You need all the power you can get when kids are involved :D

That's some nice gear. I've always wanted to build a setup like that, overkill or not :D

Well I can't compete with that! :p

And I've got 2124's taking 3 days on both my xeons - so that's killing my output :(

Ah well, it was a fun little battle, I can peak at 2k ppd, but you're just going ballistic now! :p

Sirius won't catch me though so I'm happy about that ;)

Bah indeed, it has been a pleasure sparring with you old boy but alas I am back with a major stomp on my shoulder. I've upped production a tad to compensate for my tardy christmas period but have decided that only full production on all my machines will alleviate the horrible slackness I felt over chrimbo and the new year. ;)

Expect more of the same until i feel I have exorcised the slackmonster over the coming weeks. :D
