Afterburner custom fan speed odd issue

Hi everyone,

I own a Zotac 1080TI amp extreme, no overclock applied by myself at all. I also run a triple screen 27" 144hz monitor setup so my card idles at 50c and hits 78c when gaming. I wanted it to be a bit cooler so applied a custom fan curve using MSI afterburner.

Whenever the custom fan curve is turned on the fans ramp up and get noisy every 1 minute and 45 seconds (oddly specific) they ramp up for a second and ramp back down immediately but its a huge annoyance. According to afterburner the fans only ramp up by 6% but it sounds like 100%. Temperatures also rise by 3-4c every 1 minute and 45 seconds too and then straight back down.

Also power usage of the graphics card goes from 37% to 55% whenever this happens. I am only idling when this is happening so there should be no reason it does this at all.

Anyone have any ideas?

I have the Zotac 1080ti amp edition and mine does the exact same thing with a custom fan curve in afterburner. It happens from when I boot up the pc, but

after I play a game it settles and does not ramp up again. I now leave afterburner off until I play a game because of the annoyance. No idea as to why it happens.
