Afterburner Version 2.0.0 Final

Cool.

Now let's hope the dev concentrates on programming Rivatuner 2.25.

won't happen, he's on MSI's payroll and so won't bother with something for free :(

Unfortunately, that's what I'm thinking. Afterburner is OK, but hasn't the plethora of options that RT has, and that I miss.

i just like the ability to schedule when clocks kick in, instead of having to use the quite retarded powerplay system that ati implement... and what AB doesn't seem to be able to override at all

What options do you miss that are in RT, because I think MSIAF is all the software you will ever need for a GFX card.

Sheesh, where to start.

The ability to monitor CPU speeds, temps, ram (PC) usage, etc, missing from AB.

The ability to change graphics settings, missing from AB.

The ability to set a linear fan profile (albeit present via nvidia bios in my current card but not my 8800GT), missing from AB.

The ability to set custom resolutions. missing from AB.

The list goes on, too many to mention.

Basically, AB is like a lot of current games, dumbed down. Does a basic job, RT did the same but offered a lot more.

It also doesn't allow me to underclock my card to decent 2D settings, and it ramps up speed in the wrong situations (eg MS Office 2003 causes 3D settings).

That's more ATI drivers and powerplay than afterburner, and if you're using the unofficial overclocking method you can't really blame afterburner for any problems when it's not officially supported.

I would love this feature on AB.

I really miss these features from RT. Also little things, like being able to choose figures or bar graphs for monitored items in the taskbar.

Oh well, reading the dev's forum posts, he hasn't outright said he won't develop RT further, but I ain't holding my breath.

Will be interesting to see these new MSI cards also :p Wonder if them adding the ability to tweak memory voltages will allow some higher memory overclocks
