Hi I signed up to vodafone at the end of last year and the supplied router does a reasonable job, but needs restarting every other day, and ive read that the wireless speeds aren't as fast as other routers.

We have the broadband voice and have one of the vodafone range extenders and a zen range extender both wirelessly linked which dont seem to do anything to help speeds or range.

We regularly have multiple phones, laptops, verisure security and arlo cameras connected.

Can anyone recommend routers that I can replace it with that will work with broadband voice?

On which the 2 highest rated are the AsusRT-AX92U and the TP-LinkArcher AX90 AX6600 but I dont know if they areits compatible or how I would set them up?

How is Vodafone's broadband voice service delivered?
From their website

What is Vodafone Digital Voice (VoIP)?

Digital Voice or VoIP (voice over internet protocol) connects your home phone to your router and uses your broadband connection to make and receive calls.
This is a little different to a traditional landline phone, which plugs into your home phone socket and uses the copper telephone network. The old copper network is being turned off, and by 2025 everyone will need to move onto digital phone lines instead.

How do I know if I have Digital Voice?

If you have Digital Voice, you plug your phone cable into your WiFi Hub, instead of plugging it straight into the wall

So it sounds like you can't replace the Vodafone router then, you can either add another router and end up with a double-NAT situation, or add wireless access points to your existing setup.

If the Vodafone router needs restarting daily then try getting that swapped by Vodafone.

So id just plug the new one into the lan port of the vodafone one and connect the devices to the new router?

Yes. But if you're needing to restart the Vodafone router every day you'll still have to do that even if you whack another router in the mix. Call Vodafone and get the current router swapped out before spending any money.

If after getting the router replaced you're still not happy with the Wi-Fi then I'd look at getting a wireless access point or two rather than having 2 routers.

Which package are you on?

I did read before when I was looking at switching to them they guarantee signal throughout the home and if you are not getting that they will provide another extender.

Currently you need to use the router they provide due to phone and 4g backup

The router you have may be faulty or you are overloading it.

The Wi-Fi guarantees are stupidly low numbers, ones that you'd never accept if you were paying money and putting your own access points in. Vodafone guarantee 10Mbps which it's likely the OP is achieving.

I've ordered a wifi 6 access point and ill disable the wifi 5 on the vodafone router. The speed over ethernet is good its just the wireless speed that drops massively as soon as you're more than a few feet away. Also when all 3 of us are in the house the speed is also much worse.

I think because the vodafone routers arent wifi 6 it doesnt help.
Managed to order 2 ax1800 access points for £40 each.
