Does anyone else wonder whats going to happen next?
I was going to post this in the Woolwich thread but I feel its a separate issue/ debate and I didn't want to derail that thread
So say that these guys, who did the attack, say that they did this in the name of [insert God or Deity of your choice here] (I don't want to state a region or what ever as nothing has been 100% confirmed as of yet)
Then other extremist followers of said [God or Deity] decided to perform copy-cat attacks up and down the country over the next few weeks/ months (I am talking in influx in a short space of time here) but these said followers are not from a specific organised group or country - the only thing that unites them is that they are extremest followers of [God or Deity]
Now 95% of all of the followers of [God or Deity] are not extremists or radicals, they are normal [God or Deity] fearing people who just want to live in peace with their fellow man and do not condone or support these attacks - both publicly and privately
How can a government body respond and defend the country from such attacks? Who would we (Great Britain) target for answers? What would happen?
Would we be looking at another Crusades type war, where we just invade places which have the highest populous of people who worship [God or Deity] regardless of their stand point?
All this is obvs hypothetical etc, but its something that needs considering seeing how terror attacks seem to be happening these days in the name of [God or Deity]. Is the next World War going to be against a Religious Group rather than a specific country?
I only say all this cause the government response to the attack yesterday seems to be extremely intense - calling a COBRA meeting etc - and the only reasons I can see why are because it:
a) happened in the capital in broad daylight
b) was against and close to a military establishment/ personal
c) wasn't contained and went viral immediately
d) was openly done in the name of [God or Deity]
What does GD think would happen next? If you were PM, what would your next step be in this hypothetical Great Britain on the brink of war?
