What are peoples thoughts and experiences with the above? I have the ROG Swift 27" 1440p 144hz GSync thing and I love it, I think I got lucky with it as loads of people had issues when they got theirs (from memory) there is around a £400 difference between the two is it worth it? Going to be running a 1080ti.

Thanks

Save your cash and wait for either the Acer Z35P (overclocks to 120hz) or the upcoming Asus PG35VQ (200hz and HDR). The Acer Z35P should be available shortly while the Asus is out in Q4 2017.

AOC one is a VA panel which could be prone to ghosting but it has better blacks than IPS, and the Asus is a IPS panel which has better colours but it's plagued with IPS glow and backlight bleed, If you're paying a grand for a monitor I would look at the Z35P it's available now, VA panel, 35 inch, G-Sync, 120Hz.

I can't really find many reviews by proper places on the Z35P or anywhere that sells it (I can't see it on OcUK site). I already ordered the AOC before I made this thread but debating sending it back and maybe going for the Z35P, would the 20hz be very noticeable?

It could be, 120>144Hz is not that noticeable but 100 to 120 could very well be.

Not to hijack the thread but my z35p turned up this morning :)

Overall very impressed with it. Overall build quality is great and i think it looks stunning to be fair, no flashy lights, very tidy looking. 120hz is awesome and just that bit more smooth and responsive than 100hz for sure. Switching to 100hz you can definitely feel the difference.

You can notice the viewing angles compared to the ips. As i've had a pg348q for over a year it is noticeable. However its only slight and not bad or distracting at all. I will easily get used to it.

The colors out of the box are also very good compared to the ips. Not quite as vivid (to be expected) but very nice otherwise. Will have a tinker later.

I also think the tighter curve and extra inch ;) make a difference too. Certainly feels more wrapped around.

better blacks and 0 backlight bleed. One thing I hated on my pg348q especially gaming at night.

Overall very happy with it to be fair, no dead pixels or screen defects.

depends how susceptible you are to smear / ghosting with the va panel , the ips panel will obviously be susceptible to glow on blacks etc + you may notice scan lines.

Case of deciding what you can put up with :)

How's it gone in the last week mate, have you managed to have a tinker with the colours, has it brought them out more?

I've had a slight tinker and yeah looks pretty good. Not that far off the IPS to be honest and I'm sure the greens, blues, reds look a little more vibrant.

No smear or ghosting, flickering etc. Only time I've noticed smearing is by putting the osd on extreme which is to be expected as my pg348q did as well.
