I was driving slowly, about 15mph, through a set of pedestrian crossing traffic lights yesterday in my local high street, looked up and saw they were red as I was crossing or probably just before crossing the line. Oops! Been through these lights many times but wasn't paying as much attention this time as of course I should have been or normally do.

There's a camera on top of the lights facing towards oncoming vehicles with a label on it saying AGD 200. Worried about getting a ticket through the post, am I right in thinking the AGD 200 is not for catching light jumpers but for orchestrating when the lights need to change according to what traffic it sees?

Lol no. Its a mvd it just puts a demand or an extension in for the signals, vehicle detection only, doesnt take a picture

Source :- i am a traffic controll engineer and spend all day fixing that type of thing :)

Perfect, you're clearly the right man then to answer such questions. Thank you sir. :)

Just so that I know, are there ever any little cameras fixed to traffic lights for prosecuting light jumpers, or is it only the yellow mini gatsos that sometimes stand next to lights?
