- Age of Conan - FREE

anyone who has played this and own a account gets 2weeks free to try this again since they done new patches, I'm patching it to give it a a test.

but you also get a free level 50 to create.

I recently took out the 7 day free trial, found it to be fairly good fun.

Looks stunning, plays very smooth and fluid, was responsive and quick, nice story so far, character creation was good fun.

Combat, was imho, awful.

As mentioned above, old subscribers are getting 2 free weeks :) Annoying for me as I just resubscribed for the first time in a year!!!

That said, despite the loss of a big chunk of the server populations, the game itself seems MUCH more like what it should have been on release, the majority of stability bugs have gone, performance has improved etc etc.

It's still not perfect, but if you played it a year ago, liked the looks of what it could be, but just couldn't get into it, I'd recommend giving it another shot, as it's much better now than then.

Then slowdown bug in the villas has gone for example :)

I'd rather try Conan again free than Warhammer - who have been spamming me with reminders that I have 10 days free if I want it.

Conan has a concept, but didn't like the instancing, too much of it.

Yea this is true, but you need a level 50 character already to be able to make one straight at 50.

(correct me if im wrong :D)

Its true what he says. You could spend the time you waste playing this rubbish on earning money in a job hence waste of money ;)

So what do you do after 8pm on a few weekdays, it certainly fills boring nights in when you dont work lates. MMO's are awesome, they're only a waste of money if you dont enjoy them.

I find it cool as you can play it like a single player game and multiplayer and for 30 days free time or 14 days which others have its worth it.

The graphics are awesome and the combat is somewhat different. Some hate it and its not just pressing a button in a rotation of moves like WoW etc. Others love it as you actually choose what direction you hit and that depends on the damage you do to the enemy that could be focusing all that defense to the left.

I totally agree that the mmo genre is awesome. I've played many over the years

DAoC
SWG
EQ
EQII
CoH/CoV
Linage 2
WoW
WAR
EVE Online
LOTRO
AoE

DAoC I played for a couple of years, same with SWG. EVE I played for 5 years and the others some for just the initial "free" month and others for a few months.

I can honestly say that I though AoE was utter pap and I wasted my money on it and wouldn't waste my free time again.

AoC is a lot harder to play than LOTRO or wow, its got a vastly more intricate combat system which is why i think it puts people off.

I enjoyed the Tortage part of AoC but sadly once you have done it, its done. There are no more beginner areas like with wow or LOTRO.

I have to put Tortage up there with the Shire as the two best starting areas ive ever played in a mmo.

The crafting in AoC is not even worth mentioning, EQ2 has the best crafting.
AoC could never compete with wow because it just doesnt have the ease to play or the vastness of playable areas.

AoC started off well, i enjoyed the combat and like others stated the first 20 levels... then it died, it felt like GW's with a subscription and full of bugs..

i was really looking forward to seeing it run in dx10 ....
