Age of Conan is going to go free to play, and also unrated at some point this summer according to Funcom

Will that tempt anyone, or is the reaction going to be similar to the free play time they're offering at the moment? I quite like the idea of this, I get the urge to have a dabble every so often, but don't really want to be paying a sub for a game that I won't invest much time in.

That’s not bad

Just having a quick look over at the overview describing the Free and Premium content [LINK]

Shame it only limits you to the following classes

• Barbarian
• Demonologist
• Guardian
• Priest of Mitra

Premium subscribers:

• Assassin
• Bear Shaman
• Conqueror
• Dark Templar
• Herald of Xotli
• Necromancer
• Ranger
• Tempest of Set

But I guess for anyone who fancies giving it a spin can do that

Think ill give it another whirl at some point when the Free 2 play goes live

Cant say I am surprised it went free to play. Wont be tempting me back though, I gave it a spin when it released and I just didnt get on with it.

I have played the trial, I dont think its a game I would like to pvp in as the combat felt a bit clumsy to me.

But I'll check this out for the pve content.

Excellent! Been putting a lot of time into the welcome back offer, but I probably wouldn't have subbed. Pretty generous looking F2P by the look of it too.

I assume it won't limit you if you already have a character of one of the restricted classes though? Don't want to lose my HoX :(

Too late, my dear, too late...

It's actually a pretty smart move - they film reboot is out later this year, and they're bringing out an other expansion based around the film content. As long as they market it properly it should finally make the game something approaching what it should have been at launch, plus the population will skyrocket.

Absolutely, a very smart move. The free marketing from the movie association will do it the power of good, and t really needs an injection of population for people to consider it again I think.

..and to overcome the

"I played it three years ago and it was crap, and I'm certain nothing has changed in the meantime"

syndrome
