Getting this soon. Is it good? Any of you guys played it? Will it run nicely on:
E8400 3GHZ, ATi 4850 512mb, 2x2GB 800mhz?

Thanks guys. ;)

Lol? You sound like my brother. But I showed him, when Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 ran like complete crap when loading an 18MB save lol. It was ridiculous.

Don't be naive:
1. check recommended setup
2. My pc runs it medium to high settings:

P4 @3ghz
1gb ddr2 ram 533mhz
geforce 6800

Conclusion: Your system might be able to handle it :p

Hey guys can I run PONG?

i7 @ 4.5Ghz
6GB DDR3 @ 1600Mhz
GTX280's in SLI

?!?!
I dunno, the other day I bought:

i7 965 (5.7ghz phase cooling)
12 GB ddr3 overclocked to 2.3ghz
2x gtx 295 quad sli.

and windows explorer suffered severe slowdowns, microstutter and frame losses. Maybe it's my mobo? I only have a rampage 2 extreme, should I get evga classified?

It sucked so bad I went back to my old P4 setup

Not with only 6GB you can't... it's common knowledge that PONG uses more than that amount of RAM when buffering textures, since it uses way more than 1GB of VRAM. You may have to wait for an as yet unreleased platform before you can play it i'm afraid.

I installed it again not long ago, did a few missions, and then stopped. The gameplay just seems really aged now... and the whole "mass units and attack with no formation or order" spiel was old a while ago.

Great game. Not as good as AoEII but that isn't too fair given that they are quite different on the whole. I still play it regularly with my Lv114 town :D

Agreed. I bought this a while ago and the gameplay was completely alien to me after playing something like CoH. My units were getting killed left right and center, so I was thinking I must be doing something wrong, like not using the right unit. In CoH when a unit dies it usually means you need to use something else and get that one the hell outta there. However I was using the right unit... I just needed to produce more... A numbers game.

Like you said - bit old now. I am just so used to keeping units alive and deploying them right. Not sending them to their death.

same with most of these type of games the biggest bug bear for me is the HUGGGEEEEEE user interface.

Theres just no need for so much real eastate from the screen res to be used up with huge banners and stats.
