Age of Wonders: Planetfall (4x Strategy)

So anyone else purchased or thinking of grabbing this ?

So far early reviews are favourable and positive

Been after a good Sci-Fi 4x so hopefully this delivers!

Been playing AoW since I was a little man. Bit strange considering magic and such isn't really my bag.

The new sci fi setting is definitely a bit of me and pre ordered it.

Issue with Paradox is that the games improve dramatically with DLCs... Not sure if to buy as it goes out. Part of me wants to support the company but...

Starting playing this last night and really like it

reminds me a little of Civ crossed with X-com , just playing the story missions at the moment but so far so good.

I've put in about 15 hours since release and enjoying it a lot. I just wish in scenario mode when you're in an alliance, you can ping an ally to help you in certain situations.

Wait until you attack an enemy main city with 5-6 fully loaded unit stacks!

Is not PDX made game though. AoW3 had just 3 DLCs, and AoW2 had 0. Planetfall isn't an infinite expansions game like CK2 & EU4.

I think I'll wait for Winter Sales and then buy it. Will put on top of my wish list, together with AoE Definitive Edition

Picked it up for a few quid recently. Basically feels like Civ with a different skin and a some changes. If you enjoy Civ games then well worth picking up.

WhT is different in particular is the encounters which you can either click auto, or do it yourself xcom style.
