I'm having such a nightmare choosing a case....I was going to get the Antec P182 but i've heard mixed reviews and i'm not keen on the plastic front....which rules out the Akasa's and leaves with me with Lian Li cases.

I have a PC7 already which is okay but I wanted something that would have a seperate PSU chamber to isolate the noise and heat but the only ones that I can see that do this are soooooo expensive.

Ths S80 looks great but at £175....................

Any ideas?

Thanks.

A v1000 or PC-101 would do the trick and cost a good deal less than the s80.

A mate of mine has one and although it's a beautiful case it's a dog to work on due to the layered panels. Plus - if you ever upgrade to something as big as an 8800gtx you'd be pushed for space!

My 101 fits all i need in (including my new 8800GTX  ) and if you were happy to only have 3 hdd's in the lower chamber instead of 6 you could remove one of the 3 drive racks and fit a monster PSU in.

I'm thinking of getting an Enermax 850 for mine! :)

They would be my choices.

It looks very nice but how would you insulate it from all the fan/hard drive noise with all those holes in the case?

Also does it get dusty inside?

Thanks

You're going to have to have openings for the fans anyway so it's not like it's much of a difference. That V1000 belongs to Messiah Khan of this forum. I have a thread about the buildup of my v1000 if you're interested. I've had the V1000 for about a month now and I haven't seen a lick of dust inside even though the case is close to the floor. I owe it to the washable filters that come installed on all the intake fans.

Agreed! Wonderful design that's fairly compact outside but quite spacious within. I had a P180 before my 101. That was the reverse... absolutely massive on the outside but a pig to work on on the inside! :(

Here's my build log for the 101: LINKY

No dust inside mine either - just make sure you have the filters fitted! :)

Thanks for the links......going to think long and hard about his one. They're both very nice. Lian Li's are just a cut above the rest.

I like the look of the V101 as it has a door, how good is it at keeping the noise of the fans/HHDs/PSU out?

I'm going to be leaving the PC on over night and as it'll be in my bedrrom I want something that doesn't like a hoover while i'm trying to sleep :D

Pretty good actually!

I use samsung spinpoints, akasa ambers and a tagan psu which are all quiet i suppose but TBH that lot made a racket in my P180. The lian li's a world apart! :D

CPU cooler's an amanda which is quiet and i have two zalman's on my GX2.
