Not found any information for this combo.

There's a few models that used the 240W PSU (mainly AMD) and due to the location of the DIMM slots the PSU isn't upgradeable.

Wanted to know if my SN95G5 would be capable of running this card (256 or 512MB version), but waiting for someone else to be the test subject.

AMD 64 3000+ Winchester core
2GB PC3200
160GB Seagate HD
DVD-RW
Currently Leadtek 6800LE unlocked

Im interested in this also as my m8 has the above shuttle and is looking for a good upgrade , and this card would pretty much double his 3d mark score.

Does it realy draw that much power ? how much does a x1900xt draw? thought the 1950pro was a lot better on power, read it draws 60w less than a x1900xt :s

yes

and your right it does, but the X1900 XT draws about 235W at full load

unfortunitly its not as simple as just adding up the power consumption of each card with shuttle PSU's.

even though the numbers are saying it wont run it, chances are it will. the qualty of these things are just silly (in a good way lol)

ive ran my entire A64 shuttle off their stock 200watt psu before, granted not quite the same situation with diff components but still, it gives you an idea.

Having said all this there is a limit, i.e. i doubt very much it will run a 8800GTX but x1950pro i'd say yes it should with no problem

Thats right. My Shuttle 240w has run a 1900xtx no problem, so 1950pro will be a breeze.

The 240-300w PSUs cant power a 8800gtx though, because they don't supply enough amps on the necessary rail or something, not because of the watts.

Thanks for the note about a sucessful 1900XTX on 240W.

If my PSU is a bit relaxed, would the card throttle down if not getting full requirements? Any chance of damaging the card?

Going by the current pre-order prices, and with just a few days to wait before stock is available. The ATi's put Leadtek 7600GT pricing to shame.

Just hesitant that if it did throttle down I could have got the same results by getting a cheaper 7600GT.

Any news on this bane? I really wanna get the x1950Pro AGP for my Shuttle SN41G2V2, but wanna know if my 240W PSU can hanndle it.
P.S I've got a 3200Xp and a 7800GS at the moment (+ 2GB ram) is this card gonna give me a noticeable performace improvemnt in new games, especially with HDR/AA/AF on?

Currently in two minds of what to do, so don't rely on me.

On ******* forum someone is buying Sapphire's model to test with a 240W Shuttle. At least with the SN41G2 you can upgrade to a 300W PSU (not cheap). And it 's worth looking to see if the V2 you've got is fitted with a 250W PSU.

I had planned to wait until after the new year before purchasing one (due to postage delays), especially as I've seen the Sapphire has decreased to £152, and the GeCube is just under £150 inc VAT. But want to read about fan noise and if temperature sensing is available on both.

As my memory hasn't arrived I might cancel that order and sell my SN95G5 and get a PCI Express based Shuttle instead of. Especially as my machine is CPU limited to a maximum 3500 Winchester core. And Everquest 2 is a right resource blackhole, so would be interesting attending raids.

EDIT: Oh well forum name is filtered out. It's bound to show up on Google searches for things relating to Shuttle. Begins with a S to help.

and an athlon 64 will draw at least 60W, more probably about 80W or so at full load

so no.

Where did you pull 180w from? I'm guessing thin air isn't a reliable source ;)

This is the power usage of an entire PC taken from the wall socket (so actual strain on the PSU will be lower, around 80% of these figures based on average efficiency). This is with an FX-57, 2gb RAM, 1 HD, DVD RW etc.

Considering the very high quality of shuttle PSUs I would say it will be completely fine.

EDIT: Seems you don't need to remove anything from the Shuttle case. Just takes more effort sliding the card into position.

There's two people using a Sapphire 512MB 1950Pro in a SN95G5, on another forum.

One problem with the Sapphire model is the cards height. So you might have to removed the hinged fixing device on the outside of the Shuttle that holds AGP/PCI card in place. But it depends on how successful you are at sliding the card in.

Looking at Sapphire's site picture of the card you can see how tall the PCB is to the metal bracket where you plug in the display cable.

You do need to remove the hinged bit with the saphire its impossible to fit without as it is in the way.

Fitted into my SN95G5v2 a couple of hours ago.
You must also put power to both molex connectors on the card.

Have been playing Quake 4 since fitting and no probs at all.

Just fitted the sapphire x1950pro agp into my SB75G2 (250w) to replace a x800xt pe, tight squeeze, didnt have to remove anything but did need a 'firm' push to edge it past the hinge. Wouldn't like to try to remove it in a hurry :)

Forgot to mention, the card comes in the smallest box i have ever seen a video card supplied with, thought they had sent the wrong thing when the postie arrived  there are NO bundled goodies in the box, & I hadn't noticed before that the card is not vivo, not that it matters though :)

What processor and RAM do you have? i fancy fitting one of these into my SN95G5 but power drain is my main worry, if you've got a faster rig then i can rest in peace :D
