I was thinking of building a new PC, media centre, so I could play back Blueray films from a drive...... BUT in all honesty my current P4, 3.4 is more than capable for all other duties.... But my GF6800 is choppy on HD sample files.

So.... this would seem a more cost effective option...

Display devise will be my Dell 2407 and a Panasonic PTAE700E Projector, linked by a DVI to HDMI dongle, to a 10m HDMI lead.

Plan is then to add Blue Ray drive to the PC.

Will I have any HDCP issues with this set-up ?

The only cards that have the ability to decode HD streams in a dedicated manner are the Nvidia 8500/8600-series and the AMD/ATi 2400/2600s. And then, only the ATis are available on AGP.

Your 6800 is currently doing absolutely nothing other than displaying what the CPU is chewing through. The 7600 will be the same. You will need a Radeon 2400/2600 tp do the business.

ahh ok....
this was the bit that made me think it was ok.

"GeForce® 7600 GPU by NVIDIA® brings high-definition, home-theater quality video to the PC through the acclaimed NVIDIA® PureVideo™ technology"

Problem is I hate ATI cards !!! I ditched a 9800pro for the 6800 a few years back...

There drivers and install normally suck, and the support on Open GL CAD graphics for pro applications was ****.

Errr, ditching the 9800Pro fro a 6800 is no surprise as the 6800 was a newer generation card and a fair bit faster :p

Drivers with ATI are fine, can't talk on thier OpenGL CAD support nowadays though.
