Friend of mine has just done a clean install of xp (silpstreamed with SP2) and is having some problems with his GFX card. He has a 9800Pro and installed the latest CATs and nforce 2 drivers, but 3DMARK 03 says his card is a PCI card and his score is about half of what it should be. Any ideas what could be causing the problem - im guessing its software...

has he installed agp/chipset drivers ?
That's probably the problem.
The CD that came with the mobo will have the chipset/AGP drivers, but he should download the latest drivers for the mobo's chipset (nVidia, VIA, Intel, etc)

EDIT\
Ah, just noticed he's installed the Nforce2 drivers :o

What mobo/card is he using?

My 9700Pro card used to do the same thing for the secondary connector. The primary showed up as an AGP. It did the same in device manager. Swapped to the other connector on the card and showed as AGP.
