agp cards

It would be madness if they did'nt. There are still a very large proportion of people running AGP rigs and it would be very stupid of the grphics card manufacturers to ignore them. ATI seems to be the best bet as they have just released the X1950Pro on AGP. Nvidia has'nt released a new card on AGP for quite a while now.

hmmm, go for the Nvidia Gainward 7800GS 512mb ddr3 special edition, it has a 7900 chip onboard
probably a bit more expensive than the ATI X1950's and slighlty better performance :)

hold on, how can a 7800gs have a 7900 chip in it?

also i was of the understanding that the 7900gs is slower than the x1950 pro?

There is some debate over which is faster, 7800GS+ (24 pipes) or the x1950 Pro. In the buyers guide, I put the x1950Pro ahead of the 7800GS+ on the grounds of similar performance, but much better cost/vfm.

Does your shuttle have 2 slots for your graphics card or one?

just the one, that's what i meant, better for the price, which is what i'm after:)

The HIS 1950 Pro is probably quieter, but there has been a very few problems with the power sockets on these. I would give the sapphire one a go. It's single slot, so a bit more room in your shuttle :)

THe X1950Pro is the better card, definitely better value.
Definitely get the Sapphire one.
