Hi, after reading a lot of the forums recently, and doing a lot of catchup.
Earlier today, i had made my mind up (wassnt too much of a hard choice really :D )to get the HIS ATI Radeon X1950 Pro ICEQ3 V2 Turbo 512MB to replace my quite aged 9800XT.

Now i read theres talk of Nvidia making DX10 AGP cards? Any thoughts? There must be still a significant number of people not willing to make the leap to PCI just yet, so surely ATI will release some cards too?

Been discussed a number of times on the forum, but it is unlikely to happen as AGP is old hat even though it is still quite capable.

I rekon that even AGP is old there would still be a market for this. There may be some entry level DX10 cards for this platform but nothing in the higher ranges.

The article i read was quite old, and i wassnt sure if it was hearsay or not, but it quotes a Nvidia G84 AGP. It may be that they were considering it, but canned it?

Going by past history, there will probably be AGP 8600's, but a 1950Pro would be better, even if its DX9.

What he said. Even if DX10 does go AGP the options will be pretty poor.

Can see the X1950s dominating the AGP market for a long while to come.

I think gecube did say that they were gona try and stay with agp for the hd2000 series. But which cards they use is a guess.

"Rumours are generaly not officialy confirmed, but this one claiming that there will be a DirectX 10 compatible AGP graphics card soon makes sense.

The Inquier website reports that Nvidia will release a DirectX 10 version of its current AGP GeForce 7600GX graphics card.

Codenamed G84 AGP, the new chip is claimed to be available next April"

Im presuming thats next year, not this :/

Rumors were there was 8600GT's for AGP on the way, not heard anything more for two months. OcUK had loads of Nvidia/Ati AGP cards on offer, now in last couple of months the list has gotton very small, so by that one can assume they have more or less become pointless to stock, from a financial aspect.
