hi folks hope someone can help me out here. i own a hewlett packard xw6000 server unit and im wondering if anyone can recommend a decent agp graphics card fanless with vga hdmi(hdmi output with sound so i can put thru tv without having to run a sound cable as well) for around £50.

I doubt you will find anything new but both Nvidia and ATI had AGP cards with HDMI available. Check the local auction site :)

Not sure whether any where fanless.

Just do a Google search I just did and there were many, but you will have to check for sound issues related to OS support. The fanless type might be out there but I saw none.

i was looking along the lines of the pny geforce 6200 512mb silent or ati hd 3450 512mb silent. the hd 3450 has a hd connector but i been told u cant get sound to go thru hd when its connected to a tv.

Well I have not owned such a card, but have put custom coolers on GPUs to reduce noise. So could you not get one with a fan and replace the fan with something near silent and reduced rpm, its not like your playing games. Might be worth looking into.

to be honest the main reason i want a fanless/silent card is because i always find the bearings go in the fans and noisy as hell when they do go

Theres a ATI 3850 AGP version, but you'd have to find a 2nd hand one im sure.I cant remember if they made anything higher spec than the 3850 for AGP but it would be worth a look around for one though because apparently the AGP wasnt too much of a bottleneck for that specific card if i remember correclty.

Ooops.sorry didnt read your post, fanless you say lol,i dont know about those kind of cards,i thought you wanted the best AGP you could buy or something,my apologies!
