I'm looking to squeeze a bit more life out of my aging system. I will be rebuilding a new up-to-date system later this year but cant yet due to financial issues.

Currently have a P4 2.4 w/ ht, 2gb RAM and 9800 pro. Am looking to upgrade just the AGP graphics card for now. Would a x1950pro be too limited by the CPU? If so, what GFX would go best with my CPU? Everything is run at stock and my mobo is a Intel D865PERL so I dont think there's much scope for OCing.

Cheers,

Mohain

It will be a bit limited, but it could still be worth it. Try to get a 6800 GT or a 7600 GT (particularly good as low PSU requirements).

Also have a look at my sticky(top of this forum), has some stuff on the speed and PSU requirements of AGP cards.

I had some issues with power aand my 1950pro.

My Enermax 431W PSU ran it fine, but with a Tagan 380W it would not load into windows.

So be careful

thanks a lot for the replies. Will save a few quid and go for 6800 or 7600 GT
