Hi

I know next to nothing about graphics cards so excuse the newbie-type post. Currently running onboard graphics which doesn't seem to support 1680x1050 even after updated driver download.

Need an agp card that supports the following. 1680x1050, xp, vga + dvi.
No gaming just photoshop and indesign.

Thanks

Decided to rest run the monitor, a Samsung 226BW, at home on a ATI 9700 Pro in a Shuttle SN45G. Runs at the native resolution via vga and dvi.

Installed the card on the work computer and where it would only allow me to get up to 1280x1040 instead of the monitors native 1680x1050.

So my question is, does the mobo have any effect on the resolution that a gpu can display. The work pc in question is a Fujitsu-Siemens P300 running a SiS661 mobo.

Thanks

yeah it can have an effect, some onboard gpu's just wont support certain resolutions due to the limitations (aka they are normally bab!) they have on them.
