Is it really true that the AGP format is obsolete already?
It is according to this thread!
I know that PC technology has to continue to evolve but if the article is true, I am amazed at how quickly AGPx8 has become obsolete when you consider how long PCI survived for sound cards and 56k modems for example!
It doesn't really bother me as I haven't upgraded my PC for over 3 years so I am overdue for an upgrade, but I feel a bit sorry for those people who have recently bought an AGP mobo and graphics card.
Is there any reason why the AGP format is obsolete so quickly?
I expect it is down to nVidia and ATI deciding this or is there another reason I wonder?
I'm curious!
