Ok i'm looking at getting a new graphics card as my 6600GT is starting to struggle with newer games (particularly Vanguard).

Spec is ok otherwise (AMD64 3500+ 1GB OCZ) so i shouldn't get much bottlenecking with a mid-range card.

Was thinking of a 7600GS or GT so if someone could tell me the difference that would be great :p

I'd especially like the know the differences between the 7600 series and the 6800GS which actually seems to be a better card.

I'm limited to single slot cards too, looking to spend £100-150, the lower the better but i'd like something to last a few years like my 6600 has done.

Before anyone tells me to upgrade i have a shuttle and i can't afford to upgrade my whole system, annoyingly if i go to AM2 the only thing i can keep is my HDD, so i'm sticking with AGP for the time being :p

in the £100 - £150 price range, choose the X1950 Pro, nothing else.

i'm not sure if it would fit in a shuttle. even though the sappghire card i have is single slot, i still had to move one the harddrives in my case to be able to plug the dual molexes in. plus there are pretty hefty power requirements for these cards. :)

i'd take the 7600gt over the 7600gs as even though they have the same gpu core, it's clocked much faster. also it has ddr3 mem whereas the gs has ddr2. i also think the 7600gt is a perfect match for those specs. :)

edit: i forgot to mention to the 6800gs. avoid. the 7600gt is much faster. :D

AGP wise, I'd choose from the following based on price (NB S/H = second hand):-

9800 Pro(S/H), 6600 GT(S/H), 6800 GS(S/H), 7600GS (£82), 6800GT(S/H), X800XT(S/H) 7600GT (£118), x1950 Pro (£152)
