¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I've got one of these bad boys on my x850xtpe

Arctic Cooling ATI 5 Rev.2 (X850 Series) VGA Silencer:

It cools well, and allows a bit of an OC.

Anyway, I'm using ATI tray tools to control the fan, and it seems so have a really annoying clicky noise when the fan is anything other than full speed. It is so annoying, and right now I've got it set so the fan is either full speed or off.

Does anyone know what causes this? I can record the noise if needed, but is there anything I can try to make it be quiet at lower speeds?

I think the bottom line is if you can hear it when it's running full speed it's defective. It's designed to run silent at full speed.

Many fans click or growl if run at less than their full voltage, abd I think you'll find the AC fan is already running at 7V in that cooler anyway, which is probably making it worse.

I found the problem... The PWM fan speed controller on the x850 is crap, basically.

I've now wired the fan to the motherboard header, and all is good. :) Quiet at all speeds.
