Ai Darth Vader in Fortnite

The new Ai Vader in Fortnite is pretty impressive, had some interesting conversations with him whilst playing. Like how he comments on things happening in the game like player deaths, weapon use etc.

It’s really well done and Vader responds quickly with no lag or delay. Well worth trying if you’re a Star Wars fan even if you don’t like Fortnite. Does feel like this could be the first step in a new era of generative Ai in games.

its not the only game doing/have done this, worth checking out the AI town, as a sort of proof of concept.
people have also done this with Skyrim with mods.
i think this might be the first commercial game though

I do find it annoying that with all the AI developments over the past 5 years. Games still have **** AI.

I saw someone on YouTube playing with AI Skyrim. A bit freaky tbh but I can see the potential for SP games if they can get the compute requirements at a consumer level

ow i think i saw chatgpt being used in cyberpunk also.

so i had a though after i read your comment, AI in games could be the new subscription money maker the industry has been waiting for.
imagine a game releases with chatgpt like npcs as part of an openworld rpg, when the game drops in subscripion numbers they drop the cloud hosted AI, an that means they also drop the npcs (which include quest givers). making the core game unplayable.
