There's a large, but old, thread on the game here which attracted the game dev to the forums to answer some questions. And recently Arcen games have been in the news regarding possible bankruptsy, which would be a real shame for such an awesome indie developer.
Either way, the 4.0 update for AI War has been released, alongside a new expansion, all the proceeds of which are going to the charity Childs Play, a decision which was taken before they found these financial problems, but they didn't go back on. The patch has a ton of new content, the changelog can be found here, and I can't post it because it would be far too long. Longer than the 'better Nate than lever' joke, that's how long it is

Anyway, as for the game itself, its a space based RTS that beats Supreme Commander for scale. The best part about it is the AI, whic is fantastic. It won't really attack you unless you do things to it first. Taking its planets, destroying certain buildings, all these increase its threat level. You have to try and keep this low enough so you don't get overrun, but you also need to expand, its a very hard line to walk along.
