So having just received my order email from OC, I think I’ve just bought a power colour 6800xt red dragon.

Having got carried away with the idea of actually buying a new card now instead of the next 6-12months and conscious that they weren’t likely to hang around I didn’t actually do any due diligence and hadn’t really appreciated these were non reference, in my defence it was spur of the moment and clicked the first one I could once the page refreshed :D

my current build is under a custom loop in a phanteks evolv MATX case and the new card needs to be under water as isn’t not going to fit with an air cooler...

having had a quick look I don’t see any blocks available the red dragon card

Can anyone point me in the right direction for a water block to suit ?

many thanks

Alphacool have one in the works. Apparently about 5 weeks for availability. Google Eisblock Aurora Acryl GPX-A Radeon RX 6800(XT)/6900XT Red Devil with Backplate should find it.

May need to use your build on box or outside the case or possibly riser card?. What I have had to do while waiting for the EK 3090FE block for months!

Thanks for the response

are you saying that there’s a red dragon specific card in the works or that the Red Devil block fits

to be honest at this stage I’d resigned myself to pulling my setup apart and reconfiguring it to lose one rad so I can fit the pump and the card.

That would let me use the card with the air cooler and the cpu on its own in the loop.

unfortunately a vertical mount is out of the question due to needing a pci WiFi card

Yes, as per my message. Alphacool are doing a red dragon 6800XT/6900XT block (assume both use same PCB). can google it to see the block they are doing. Apparently out in 5 weeks or so.

All that said, do expect some delays, I think all blocks this gen have had some delays.

Cheers fella

Waited long enough for a GPU upgrade (currently using a 290) sure I can wait a bit longer for an appropriate block

I was just about to start my first full water cooled build out of lockdown boredom, even got a block for my RTX 2080 delivered this week but couldn't resist a Sapphire Nitro+ 6800 XT as the money has been burning a hole in my pocket since November.

The Nitro+ version of the Alphacool is only 3 weeks until stock hopefully, its the only one I can see online at the moment.

I sat and watched IgorsLab in German on YT of the reference version on a 6900XT earlier to see it mounted on a card as I was not sure about all the bolts as I'm planning to have it mounted vertically and its the only video I could see it in the flesh but I think it looks fine fitted.

Yeah there’s not a lot of info out on the differences between the AIB’s

I found blocks for the Red Devil and suspect there can’t be that much difference between that and the red dragon and almost phoned up OC to see if I could swap my order for one

in the end I’ve decided to pull my loop apart water cool the CPU only and use the card with the air cooler

going to be a fun evening trying to work out the best configuration for it all and one way or the other

I’ll be losing one rad most likely the big 360 I have a 240 slim that I’m hoping is man enough for the cpu and hopefully there will be enough airflow through to deal with the GPU

Luckily just had my delivery of a new PSU, tubing an everything else I need so will start stripping it down friday night over a beer or two

I figured run it for a while if blocks come out I can swap it out then, least I get to use the card in the short term

I managed to get a Sapphire Nitro+ 6800XT for aound £800 since that was pretty much the only part i have been waiting for foor the rest of my build.

Been notified that my AC GPU block i preordered a while back will be with me on Monday. Yay! (Was meant to arrive sooner but given lockdowns UPS returned the package to the sender so it was delayed by a couple weeks.)

Will post what teh block etc looks like.. have a few strips of Fujipoly and AC 11w/mk - 17w/mk thermal pads to make use of, so those would be attached to the block instead. Would be interesting what temps they produce given current idle temp is around 30c, hotspot between 35-40 and load tends to reach the high 80s
