I've noticed when I run the memory and cache test on AIDA64 I'm getting a squeeling noise from somewhere in my system. It's like a much louder version of coil whine on a GPU.

MSI z690 board and 12700k. I've found a post from buildzoid on reddit who says this is common on z690 boards but wondered if anyone else has noticed it?

My VR system (11900k, Asus ROG Maximus Hero XIII Z590) has very loud coil whine, when memory is stressed or when it dropped to low power C states. Asus resolved this by adding "acoustic management" options in the BIOS, which when enabled, eliminated the problem. Worth checking MSI forums to see if they too have an option?

Until that motherboard, I'd never have thought a motherboard alone could be responsive for such obnoxious coil whine, I'd only encountered it with GPU's as well.

Fortunately it's only noticable in that test alone and strangely it didn't happen the first time I ran it but now it does it consistently.

I'll have a look around, it's a bit concerning but from what I've read isn't a sign of anything being damaged.
