AIFF Sample rate question...

In OSX you can drag a track off a CD to rip it to AIFF. However when you do this it rips it as 16bit 44.1Khz. Does anyone know if there is an easy way to change the default rip quality to 16bit 48Khz?

If this is not possible, is there any really simple (Not itunes) way of ripping CDs at 16bit 48Khz?

Itunes > Preferences > Import settings at the bottom of First Tab > pick AIFF > Change Automatic to Custom > Change what you want > press ok > ok Again.

Does this change the sample rate setting when just dragging and dropping a track off a CD though? Ie, is it actually itunes doing the ripping in the background?

The sample rate of a CD is 44.1hz. DVD is 48Khz.
