It was probably possible until they removed os support haha
It would still be possible if you modded the PS3
but since Sony are pushing movies and tv you'd think they'd give you more format choices, like .RMVB for Anime 
Going to be the lone voice but I have both and if you like JRPGs I'd say 360 without a doubt.

Only one of those is a great RPG! There's another good one, the others are rather universally regarded as poor to average. You just love your JRPGs too much abooie

I do rate all of them bar Infinite Undiscovery though.
Did you ever get round to ToV and Last Remnant? They're really worth a punt.

The PS3 exclusives really are excellent. You can get uncharted 1 & 2 and infamous cheap as chips now. Plus they have sequels out this year too.

For cross plat form rpg titles? 360 generally the better version (sure ps3 you might get lots of gimmicks and add ons & fitting everyone onto 1 disc but the game itself wont be as good graphically...i hate to admit im a graphic whore but if ive played the game first on a 360 and then tried it on a PS3 9 times out of 10 we know which rpg version is going to be the better looking)
Lets just say i was a mite dissapointed with Star Ocean 4 on the PS3...almost looks like a PS2 title thats how low-res it is

ToV is the game i'd rate as fantastic out of that list. I borrowed it from a friend but he asked for it back before i could complete it, its so expensive now. Basically it's one of my biggest regrets of gaming not getting it
The last remnant i played on released on the PC, didn't rate it unfortunately.

From what you have said, PS3
I have had no problems whatsoever with my PS3 (phat one) that we bought August last year, neither has my brother who has one from launch or sis in-law with her slim one. So can't really say much on it myself other than that mine has been completely fine! (and it's on pretty much on 95% of the time bad habit of leaving games paused)

My phat one will be celebrating its third birthday in six weeks. Durability so far no issues.

Why would you want to mingle with the Xbox owning fanbois when you can join the full console collection elite.
My fat PS3 got the YLOD recently (bought early 08), but I got it going again using the heat gun trick. I know plenty of people that haven't had an issue with launch day consoles though. I can't really comment on the reliability of the slims though.
