Hello guys,

Been looking for a cheap(ish) tablet to keep the children occupied over the summer, to stop their mum going mad! I've managed to find a tablet called the Ainol Novo 7 Aurora from a company called GadgetFreakz, specs seem reasonable and it's on offer I think from the website.

Am just wondering if anyone has one of these or anything similar and what there thoughts are on it? Just needs to play games and movies (think that's all they'll need), then that's good enough.

Thanks for your help guys, much appreciated!

Regards

i got the ainol elf.

its reasonable for the price. screen works ok but scratches easily (i mean real easy) and they come rooted with a none standard ics rom. tbh the single core struggled a bit with ics and probably needs a older version of android on there.

that said i got it for £100 so for that price its not really a surprise but you do get what you pay for. prob fine for the kids tho. if you had £160 and trusted your kids with it the natural choice would be the nexus 7 8gb as you get a massive increase in quality and specs for the extra 60 but i prob wouldnt give it to kids (i'd be playing with it myself!)

Ainol novo7 flame has been released, google that model, I have an aurora (well, bought it for my eldest daughter) and am thinking of the flame, dual core 1.5ghz, 1gb ram, dual cameras, 1200x800 ips screen etc.

i have the elf and elf 2...gave the elf to the gf, the elf 2 is much quicker with is dual core and i havent had a problem with it yet, good for a quick internet browse or a blast on some games. Battery is a lot better in the 2 as well :)
