AIO pump noise?

Hello,

I recently purchased a Gigabyte 980 Ti with an AIO water pump on it. It's my first foray into water cooling of any sort. My main concern with the card, however, is there's a constant underlying hum. It appears to be coming from the water block attached to the GPU and I can hear it a good distance away from the tower, too. It doesn't appear to be coming from the fan or radiator.

I know this card uses the same AIO system that the Fury X uses, and that card had some issues initially with pump noise. Just wondering if there's a "normal" amount of pump noise?

Appreciate any help!

i know sometimes it can hum if the radiator is positioned lower in the case than the actual pump. This then shifts any air in the AIO into the pump causing it to hum slightly. You should always try to position the radiator above the pump with AIO to allow the air to gather in the tiny reservoirs located at the top and bottom parts of the radiator. But this is me just trying to offer a posible solution. Im not sure of how bad the humming is. If it's intruding above case fans and you can noticibly hear it then id probably try sending it back if its annoying you too much?

I know it would annoy me.

Hey guys, thanks for the quick responses! Really appreciate that.

The radiator is positioned above the pump and video card itself. I have it mounted to my 900D's rear 12 cm fan slot. I also made sure the tubing wasn't touching or vibrating against the case or anything. Definitely seems to be coming from the GPU block.

I made a short video to illustrate the noise:

It probably doesn't sound as bad in the video, but that underlying hum present throughout the video is, as I said, audible from quite a distance away from the tower, and this room isn't exactly silent.

Appreciate all the help so far, though, of course.

Yeah, that's kind of what I was thinking, but having little experience with water cooling, I wasn't sure what to expect. I suspect the retailer I purchased it from was offloading old stock and this is probably one of the older models of this GPU with pump issues. I'll contact Gigabyte directly.

Thanks for the help!
