Aio too short to reach front of case

Hi guys as above I have a h55 attached to a kraken g12. But it's currently drawing air ( push Pull ) from the fan mount on the floor of the case ( Corsair 750D) Ideally id like the h55 attached to the front of the case... as currently the rad is sitting beside the power supply which gets hot during gaming and it bumping my temps up as well. The tubes are to short and i still have a gap of 10-15 cm to make up.... first i saw what Tiny Tim Logan did with his h100 and realised it was a spoof.... yes i nearly fell for it until i seen the temps!! Anyway got me thinking what about using a shroud to make up the gap between the rad and the front mount.... will this work or will it degrade the air flow?? Or is there any other solutions you guys can offer..... i did consider using the rear fan port but the way the pipes bend it will be putting a constant pulling effect on the bracket of the GPU.

Thanks in advance

Title fixed :)

Can't the Kraken go on the front mounts and the H55 on one of the top mounts?

I think he's using a Kraken G12 gadget that lets him strap his corsair H55 AIO to the gpu so there's just one AIO with a choice of front, rear or bottom fan spots.

Can't see an easy option for tubes being too short though.

Doh - not had my coffee yet :)

Won't it reach to one of the top mounts?

Top,Front,Bottom or Rear in a 750D, unless I'm having another moment :)

  • Radiator and fan compatibility:
    • Top: 3 x 120mm or 2 x 140mm
    • Front: 2 x 140mm or 2 x 120mm (2 x 140mm included)
    • Bottom: 2 x 120mm
    • Rear: 1 x 140mm or 120mm (140mm included)

I have an H100 on the top.... but even if i didn't the tubes aren't long enough without causing the card to be pulled upwards.

So currently top mount has H100. Rear has an exhaust fan but like previously mentioned wont mount correctly there without pulling on the gpu. Bottom has the H55 currently but its right next to the PSU which is causing problems under sever load... and front mount with just has 2 fans currently but thats where id like the h55 mounted to..

What about my shroud idea... any merit there??

Heres the set up so far to give you an idea.... Ps the wiring is not done, i just hooked fans up any which way to make sure it all worked, its all getting completly rewired in the next few days when my fan controller arrives.

Id love to get a kraken and will probably get one down the road, but for now I found shrouds that will bridge the gap how ever they are a tenner a pop for 20mm and i need more than that so what i have done is took 4 old 120mm fans took the middle part out and kept the frames, and put silicone sealant between each one to stop air leaking out to much.. its made up the gap, but I need to wait for some 3 inch 6-32 screws to secure it all. So the plan is jet flow Fan on a fan controler in the font... homemade shroud/windtunnel how ever you prefer... then sp120 in push pull on the end of that... hopefully it works if not its only cost me £3 for screws everything else was laying about..... fingers crossed!

The idea of a shroud to distance from the rad is meant to improve cooling, as it allows even air flow over the whole rad area, not just the bits the fan blades beat air into.

You might be surprised :)
