Aion- anyone playing still

A couple mates at work are really into this game and they love it. They sound so passionate about it talking about the huge abyss battles etc.
I would play with them but there a bit hardcore for me.


This game is far from dieing with still a strong fanbase and lots of big patches to improve the game all the time, its just one of thoes games you got to earn the rewards not like wow;)

yes I can vouch for the epic abyss battles :) never had that much fun since pre-tbc av matches that took hours :)
 
i didnt even last the free month that came with the game, it got to the point where i had to collect 5 items from enemies to complete a quest, after killing them for about 8 hours i still only had 4 and i knew it was time to pack it in
 
Not heard about aion since Beta when the hype was on about this and WoW

a lot of people seemed to like it but now I've heard no one plays. I'll have to try find out the amount who play later

first 20 levels are not too bad, its when you realise that our only prospect is an aweful lot of grinding to get to max level (that apparently isnt too bad pvp wise, although lacking pve content)
 
I liked it but and the idea behind the wings and such, its just the lack of pve that let it down for me.

I wouldnt mind the grind so much if there was more stuff to do in groups and it was more fun.

I am jsut bored of mmos in general playing more signle player rpgs atm, i am hoping the new start wars mmo will be good.

there is a massive update coming in May via patch 1.9, there are far too many changes to go into but it will make levelling faster as xp has been addressed and new content added. The level cap is being raised with new skills for all classes and a new 'ground Abyss'..

Aion has lost a lot of subscribers since release, the server I'm on Gorgos still has plenty of players and over the last month or so our Legion has be growing. Whilst Aion doesn't suit a lot of western MMo players it's actually one of the best out there but then I dont find it as 'grindy' as some and actually enjoy that part of MMo's.

Ahh right, i only played for a few hours in the Beta, can't remember why i didn't like it though lol.
 
Has there been any improvement in the lag during the Abyss battles over the last few months? Lag used to be horrific and you used to have to turn off half the graphics.

+1 - but I am pretty sick and tired of MMO's after playing WoW for years anyway. For now I only play FPS/Strat games :)
 
i tried it again a week ago, lasted a few days btu then i noticed the grid again. seems i went back a month too early, that 1.9 patch does look good though so might be worthwhile waiting to go back til its released
