Hi,

I need an air cooler thats max height 153mm which is a bit of a tricky one as not many available at first look, as I've not been in a situation with limited height before I thought I would check for any go to coolers for this kind of height restriction

I'd prefer not to have a downdraft cooler really as it would cover most of the board and I don't really like that

No budget for this as I need the best I can get

I've been looking at the NH-U9S but can't be doing with the brown fan so would end up quite expensive for not so impressive performance when swapping the fans out

Cryorig H7 would fit but I read you have to fit them from the rear and their fans are often commented on being loud

Any others out that that I might have missed?

Thanks

What case do you have? Ive found with some cases that the cpu cooler height limit listed can be a bit conservative and you can fit something taller than stated.

Its pre ordered, Coolermaster NR200P so I dont have it yet and will want to build as soon as I get it so I need something soon - I'll be using the TG Side Panel so will be limited to 153mm

There is normally a few extra mm to play with and since the scythe is only 154.5mm I would be suprised if it didn't fit.

Maybe but it's a case of buying it and trying it and returning it if it doesn't which is a pain, would rather get something that will definitely fit but there isn't much choice other than the out of stock Cryorig H7 Quad Lumi which I'm not that keen on anyway if I'm honest

Four heatpipe H7 Quad and H7 ultra versions have more standard mounting system.

That's lighter than Cryorig H7.
150mm high Macho 120 SBM would be more in H7's weight class.

States convex base, looks good other than that but too risky

I've picked up a wraith Prism from the mm so I'll use that until the Noctua NH-U9S Chromax is released and get that, I was concerned about the 92mm fan being noisy but all the reviews says it's quiet
