Hello

What air cooler would you recommend for a 5900x?
Dont want to break the bank but do want to do a bit of overclocking.
Cheers

I use a DeepCool AK620 tower on my 5900x and it’s great. I don’t OC though so can’t comment on that.

OCUK don’t sell DC stuff, wish they did because I do rate highly the quality of their products.

Thermalright Peerless assassin would be another option - again I can't link as OCUK don't carry them, but I have the smaller assassin king version and it's just about able to keep my 5950x at bay, although a bit hotter and noisy than I would like.
I only bought it to get me through some troubleshooting and while I clean down my watercooling stuff, but I'm sure the peerless version would be more than sufficient!

As a bonus they are also not that tall (157mm) so should fit in most standard ATX cases

I use a scythe fuma 2. 30 quid B grade from ocuk. Works well with the 5900x with raised power limit to 170w.

Arctic freezer 34 works too with cpu power limit lowered to 100w

ive got the peerless assassin 120 and its keeping my 5600x super cool. 25C at idle....leads me to think i could turn my case fans down a little at start of the fan curve! got case and cooler fans all on 40%

Worth a try. No idea what 40% is in actual fan speed, but at idle load my fans are about 600-650rpm. Just fast enough so all components stay cool.

I almost always us coolers with ability to cool way more than what I need.
Reason is cooler that can cool 300w can cool 150w at much lower fan speed staying almost silent.
Using a cooler that can cool 150-160w would have fan/s at full speed making lots of noise.
