Hi I may be going back to aircooling and im wondering what coolers you can recommend that will fit my mobo which is the Gigabyte X99M, I know for a fact the Noctua D15 wont fit as it covers the Pcie slot. Looking for ones that fit please hehe :)

Is it the window version as you dont want an ugly cooler but then again the noctua aint a looker imo ? what about an all in one watercooler.

Cos im thinking about going back to aircooling also not chossing the noctua as i said it wont fit it blocks the first pcie slot on the mobo, thats why im asking for help and suggestions.

Ordering case and cooler on monday if i can find one to use

You can use most any of the top tier cooler and not see more than a few degrees difference in temps. NH-D15 is one of the best .. key word is 'one' There are at least half a dozen that are just as good, like Cryorig R1, Silver Arrows', Scythe Fuma, Alpenfohn Olymp, Phanteks PH-TC14PE, and the list goes on. Even NH-D14 with same fans as D15 comes with performs as good .. some testing shows it a degree or two bettr than D15. ;)

Your GA-X99M Gaming 5 is 75mm center CPU to near side of PCIe socket and 55mm to near side of RAM socket. That is enough room for most coolers to fit.

What is your budget and what RAM are you planning to use?

The R! Ultimate works very well and is quiet....

it looks pretty good in my R5 Define case.

The fans will lift if needed for RAM clearance.

To me it looked good in my case, as it has a Window. The Noctua fans just looked fugly to me.

You can see the RAM clearance here...

Only place i see with Cryorig stuff dont stock the R!

Ram clearance isnt that much of a issue as my ram is pretty low profile. Using some Avexir core series ram they are pretty low. Also I have a Budget of around £150 for the cooler.

Best of luck. I hadn't needed to think of the proximity of the PCIe slot with the cooler, due to having a full ATX board. The only consideration was to use LP RAM ad have a decent case - a define R5 Window.

R1 is 144mm wide outside of fan clips. That is 72mm center CPU toward PCIe. GA-X00M measures 74mm center CPU to near side of PC|e socket. This is done using GA official top view of motherboard and scaling maeasurements bases on 2011 80mm mount spacing. I've done this a lot over the years and never been more than 2mm off, so it should fit. Worst case, insulate the fan clips.

Doyll your right m8 already heard back from cryorig which im amazed at I only emailed them yesterday on a Sunday and the R1 will Fit
