Air Coolers (not conditioners)

Compared to air conditioners they're crap.

In fact they're crap in general, they are just like a fan. Air coolers use water to try and lower the temp, I have one in my bedroom and have not used it in years because it's so useless.

I have proper air con in my office and it's bliss

Fork out the extra and get a proper unit, you'll use it for years and years, well worth the money.

They're rubbish. They just make the air really humid and don't seem to do much cooling. You also have to keep filling them with water which is very tedious and annoying.

An air con unit is 10x better.

Get a ac unit if you can afford it,i have one and there ace espically when it gets very humid the only problem is the damm noise they make but beggers can't be chooses.

Air coolers are rubbish. I bought one and really regretted it. It's been returned and I might get an air conditioner at some point.

Air coolers move warm air about (even those with ice/water).

Air conditioners physically cool the air and then blow it out.

I have a split system here and it will get the room down to a chiily temp :-) I got a split because the heat exchanger needs a hefty fan, and that bit is outside and noisy.

Mine is 9000BTU and it runs 2.6kw per hour.

I think it costs around 7p per Kw per hour. So mine costs around 18p an hour to run.

In the average day you might have it on for 8 hours so £1.44 a day.
