hi there
its about time to wash the oil filter out again, ive run out of dirt retention oil. halfords sell it as a kit, does anyone know if you can get anything cheaper/better than that?

Is the pipercross and K&N cleaning stuff the same?

Bsically, yes.

how often / miles should you clean the air filter?

The same as the interval your service schedule states the boggo air filter should be changed, i.e. once yearly/12k miles - whichever comes first.

Was gonna say Matt i might have a K&N service kit in the garage you could have but i've not seen it for ages and its for the solid style filter not foam anyways.

Still that seems like a good price, can't argue really.

i'd have thought carb cleaner would do as well, no?

B@

Its what Ive always used. Carb cleaner on the outside, carefully rinse from inside out to remove the crud, leave to dry and then re-oil. If your cheap like me or cant find bargain K&N/Pipercross filter oil good ol WD-40 works just as well. Never had a problem.

the K&N one would be for a cotton filter, ive got no idea how well that would work in a foam one. when foam ones are oiled up they are really sticky, im sure theyd stick to the wall if they threw it :D

itll arrive next week i imagine, so another trip up north before i can get that sorted
